How Long Before I See Refugium Results?

I've posted this on the Reef Discussion forum as well. I made a DIY AC70 HOB refugium (I followed an example from a post on here), I used live sand first (about 2"), then layered it with live rubble rock and topped it off with a good bunch of Chaeto. I'm trying to get rid of a Cyano outbreak I have in my tank. I've tried all other methods such as reduced lighting, feeding and changed direction of flow from powerheads...nothing, it's still growing and my phosphates/nitrates are fine so a mini refugium is the latest in my string of efforts to rid myself of this red slime. I just set it up on Wednesday, approximately how long before i should start seeing any results from the minifuge?

You should also siphon out the cyano, to help give the cheato an advantage. Cyano tends to bind nutrients quickly, and will outcompete the cheato. I've found the best time ti siphon it out is near the end of the light cycle when it has had the most of light period to bind nutrients. Running you refuge on an opposite light cycle may also help. When the cyano dies back at night it releases nutrients back into the water, so lighting the fuge this way will allow the cheato to remove the released nutrients as they become available.

I'm going to net out as much cyano as i can during my next water change just before the lights go off and hope the chaeto can gain the upper hand.

I dont know if you've tried this yet but there is a product by blue life called "red slime control" and i will SWEAR by it. i had red slime everywhere and used this product and within 3-4 days there isnt a trace of cyano left and no water change was done either.
