how long between adding fish?

I just transferred the livestock from my old 40 gallon reef into my new 125 gallon display. The rocks (all cured) and sand (about half is from my old tank and fuge) have been in there about a week, clowns and LMB in there a few days. Everything is fine, fish are eating corals also look great.

My question is how long should I wait before adding new fish, I would like to purchase some chromis and cleaner shrimp to add some movement and color to the tank. Would later this week be to early?

Also who long do you usually wait between adding new fish in your tanks?

I'd wait at least a month and perhaps even longer depending on your params. I wait a minimum of 1 month between new fish so you can make sure everything is healty and figure our your fishes personality.

i upgraded to a 180 over the summer. I had an existing 55 reef (very mature - 2 years, and stable as anything i've ever had) and a 110 FO stable as well with matured rock/sand... I added most of the rock, sand (added new live sand as well) waited a week made sure things were stable. then added some corals and some of the rock from my 55. Waited another week. added the rest of the corals and the rest of the rock. Then added my fish all at once... unfortunately i had to since i had a very unforgiving timeline (i went back to school in hawaii in 2 months)

did some water changed to keep the nutrients down, added a lot of macro algae as well.

after 2 months of things being stable (so i was told by my friend who checked everything) i added 6 fish this october when i went home for a week. So far so good. I would have liked to go slower with adding fish, but couldn't at the time.

i would wait atleast 2 weeks before adding more. do water param checks before as well :)

But you will be putting them in QT first, right? That will be at least 4-6 weeks unless you see ich, then it will be a bit longer. Hope the QT works for you. K.
