How long can LPS/softies survive without light?

My current 60 gallon reef is being taken over by green bubble algae.

I've tried feeding twice/week and changing water 10% twice/week for the past two months but the bubble algae just seems to increase.

I have only LPS/softies.

I have a 30 gallon sump that is filled up to 20 gallons--half filled with chaetto, and running a Aqua Remora Urchin, and 2 units of 2-Fishes Phosban reactors (one unit filled with phosban and the other filled with carbon).

Lights are on from 5pm until midnite, 4-54W T-5's. I'm thinking about cutting lights off entirely hoping that the algae would disappear.

What do you guys think of that?

I need these annoying algae gone pronto.

i am getting bubble algea as well the best way to get rid of it is by addding a couple of foxface/ rabbit fish to your tank..

Hey Gabriel,

Do you have a foxface? If it do wonder, can I rent it from you since my foxface doesn't do a darn thing. The bubble is growing and growing and my foxface doesn't seem to get near it...Maybe I have spoil the fishes...;D
