How long do you acclimate a BTA for?

depends on the temperature difference in the bag the nem is in and the tank. usually 30 min is more then enough. in extreme cases such as when one is shipped and the temp of the bag is elevated (especially this time of year) it takes a bit longer for a bag to cool off then to warm up.

The equalize temp and plop them in method my work for you, but it is not the generally accepted "best practice".

Generally after equalizing the temp for about a 1/2 hour, I put the anemone in a bucket with as little bag water as will cover him. Then drip water from the tank into the bucket as to double the water volume in about a half hour. I usually let that go for about an hour. Some people like to scoop water out of the bucket and keep the drip going for 3 hours, but I find the temp in the bucket drops too much for me.

To make a drip line just rubber band an airline tube to a pvc joint and put it in the aquarium. Put an airline valve to the other end and start the siphon. Control the drip with the airline valve. If you don't have an airline valve, you can tie a knot in the tubing and tighten or loosen the knot to control the flow.

I have had much better luck with new anemones since switching to drip acclimation.
