How long does it take for a zoa to multiply

Im a newbie, was thinking about getting a few mid-higher priced zoa species, its for a 3 gal tank so i was thinking about just getting a single polyp of each and letting them grow out. im sure it probably varies a lot, but what is a general time frame for a polyp to become 2 polyps, or 4 polyps, etc.

Like you say, it does vary (a lot). I find the different variables to be genus of the zoa, lighting, flow, water quality, and size of frag.

I never buy single polyp frags so I can't tell you from experience but usually for me, it takes a few weeks for my frags to settle in and start budding.

Just a general answer, I would say 3 weeks for zoas. But pe would be very long. Paly is very fast. It all depends.

I have tons of singles do to fragging and what not....... but yea water chem lighting and the specific zoa/paly... you should see "budding" "nubs" and the zoa mat spreading in couple weeks

It really depends on the type of zoa and the condition of the tank but for example PD'S are very good growers but PPE'S are painfully slow growers for me.
