I have a hippo tang (ich magnet) in my 90 gallon FOWLER along with several other fish. My hippo has had two white spots on him for approximately one month now. They have not spread and he is eating great and still has quite the belly. I've been feeding him food treated with garlic and although he does not appear ill, he does exibit scratching behavior once in a while. I've tried to net him out with no success, due to the 100+lbs of fiji live rock in the tank. I ordered a fish corral from fosters smith and am hoping to get a better look at him with it. My question is simple...how long does it take for ich to spread on one fish. I've had them in previous tanks spread like wildfire within a few days, but the progression with my tang has altogether stopped. Is this typical for marine ich? He certainly does not look "salted" with only two lonely spots. I'll try to get a photo up as soon as I can.
