How Long For Acans To Grow?

I picked up a plug of 3 heads about 2 months ago. It's about 1/2 way up on the rock in my 55 under a 4 bulb fixture with ATI bulbs. I'm feeding it about twice a week with either frozen brine, reef chili, rotifers and even forumla 1 flakes. It still looks the same as it did when I got it two months ago. Here's a shot from about 3 weeks ago.

I think it depends on the acan. I have one I got with 4 heads and within a month it has 8 heads now. Another one i got with one head still has one head 3 moths later. They are both in the same tank about the same depth and get fed about the same amount.

Acans grow in spurts from my experience. You'll get like several babies at once, then once those babies grow to mature polyps, you'll get more. For instance, I got a 3 polyp frag about 6 months ago and after a couple months I had 7 babies all around. That's all the growth I've gotten since now I have 10 mature polyps. Nothing since......

Then I got a singe polyp 10 months ago. Now I only have 4-5 polyps of those.

I had my acans with 3 heads for about 5 months. Then, I moved them to a shaded area, lower flow, and fed them almost daily with my fish. I also started dosing- in the past month, my one 3 headed acan has added 4 heads. The other has added 12!
