How long to let clownfish fight before separating?

Hello,

I have a black ice clown that I added a bullet hole clownfish to yesterday. They have started to lip-lock and fight and I'm wondering how long this generally persists before forming a bond (if that's what ends up happening)?
Both fish are around 1.75-2," so I assumed there would be a bit of dominance struggle, but didn't realize how brutal they'd be!

Place one a breeder box so they can get used to each other without killing each other. Worked for me with Maroons.
