How long to wait before putting the refugium online

This time around my sump will feature a refugium chamber, I was wondering when should I toss the cheato in and start running the lights?

I should be starting the cycle this week. should I start up the fuge right after the cycle? after the first fish? wait a little for the nutrients to be at a level to be able to feed the macro algae?

when my cycle finished I did a number of water changes to bring my nitrates down, but it wasn't until I picked up some Chaeto did it drop to unnoticeable levels.

When your doing the cycle I wouldn't have anything running but just water circulating..after the cycle completes do a water change and add your fish..then maybe wait a week-2 to and macro so that is actually has something to feed on
