How long will carbon last?

I know it depends on bio-load, but I am wanting to buy some so when I get my 55gal corner I am needed to know how much to buy and in what amount so I will have some to last me a while.

I think I have read carbon should be changed every 2 weeks. After this time it will start leaching back into system.

2 weeks sounds about right. I usally go 2-3.

Carbon is fairly inexpensive. You could always get chemi-pure. It'll be more intially but lasts much longer.

I would do that, but drsfostersmith has it on back order.

I still have 48lb of a 50lb bag for around 50.00. I have no problem changing it out.

Carbon will not leach organics/chemicals back into the water even when "saturated."
