how long will ick spots stay in copper

I have a blue tang that I thought has ick. Now I am starting to wonder. He developed a few tiny white spots that I watched and over a few days seemed to get a little larger like ick size. I dosed the QT tank I have him in with coppersafe. I have a couple other fish in the tank that have never developed any signs of ick. I know that the copper doesn't effect the ick in this stage of the disease but my question is how long before these spots fall off the fish and then are destroyed by the copper. I thought the spots only stayed on the fish for a few days to a week maybe.

The white spots are supposed to leave the fish on their own as a part of the ich lifecycle, but many people think that copper causes them to drop off earlier. Often white spots disappear within 72 hours of copper treatment.

It is hard to say, some people suggest that the copper induce mucus secretion that forces the white spots to leave the fish.

copper is supposed to affect only the waterborne phase of ich, but not everyone agrees.

When i treat with copper(advanced stages only) it is usually all gone within a few days. Do you have sand in your qt or substrate?

I also thought that the copper only effects the waterborne stage but assumed the spots would drop off after at least a week as part of the normal lifecycle. Thats why I'm wondering if it isn't actually ick but just something else due to lowered immunity because of the treatments. Before the copper, I dosed him with prazipro x2 because he had flukes. The spots appeared after that treatment.
I have no substrate in my QT tank, BB with plastic plants and pvc.
