How long will thawed frozen food keep?

I will be going out of town for an extended period (a little over a week). I have a friend that will be looking after my fish while I am gone. I typically thaw the appropriate portions of frozen food with RO/DI, then place the thawed mixture in feeding syringes - one of each daily feeding. I then keep the syringes in the refrigerator for an easy feeding schedule.

If I thaw out the portions for the full week or so, will they keep in the refrigerator for the full period?

I think so... How often are you planning on feeding the fish though? They don't have to be fed each day. In an 8-10 day period, 3 or 4 feedings should be plenty IMO. (one day on, one day off) GL.

You could have them feed for the first three days and then no feeding after that. They will be fine going without food for that amount of time.

Great idea about limiting the number of feedings...didn't think about that. Thanks for the ideas!

I use a squirt bottle for food. I defrost a few days worth. I would say at about day 5 it starts to go bad.
