How long with no electric?????

How long can a tank go without electricity? I have a 90 gallon coral reef with a coral beauty, royal gamma, damsel, clown and a cleaner shrimp. They are planning a 4 hour outage tonight. Should I get a battery air pump??????

I think they should be fine as long as the water is aerated well before the outtage (IE a protien skimmer always running)... although a battery air pump is not a bad Idea for emergencies, you dont need to run out now and get one.

You should be finefor a few hours I have gone 8 hours without power before. I didn't like doing it ...very scary . Bought a generator after the last time. .

I have a generator but it wasen't going to be shut off until 1:30AM. It was supossed to be off for about 6 hours. I was only out for about 3. I ended up using a UPS and only pluged in one powerhead to agatate the top worked fine. Everything was fine this morning
