How long would it take for a male Occ to turn to female?

I recently lost a female occ. This was an old established spawning pair. I quickly introduced a juv I had and for the past two weeks they seem to increasingly get along better and better. I know that the original male will turn to female but I was wondering how long would it take for them to spawn again?

Any thoughts?

Hmm.. not long
My first pair of breeding ocellaris the female went afk after 5 years. I bought a small wild caught to replace her maybe within a month. The old male just got bigger and seemed to be female shortly after I added the new smaller clown. Been maybe a year since and I am starting to suspect they may lay soon.

It has been about a month now and the old male has gotten considerably bigger and the new one dances around all the time though every now and then I see them fighting a bit.

It is interesting to see that my original male is a deep reddish orange and the new one was a light orange color when I introduced him. Now, after feeding him a variety of foods (shrimp, cyclopeeze, artemia, spirulina, etc) His color has changed but to a dirty looking orange, at first I thought he was turning black but I think this unlikely.

I have seen them cleaning the spawning site, I just hope it does not take them a year to spawn again
