I know there are several of you on here with them and Ive seen them on your systems but cant remeber how load they where. I think I have one with a problem. In the stand I can here it from 10-15 feet away rather loud, I dont recall hearing much of anything from anyone else's. Also does the body give off a good amount of heat? Mine got pretty hot pretty fast but didnt want to try to return it till Im sure its bad. Bougt it a month or so ago but just got it running tonite. Thanks in advance!

Mine is almost silent. It's sitting on a piece of 3/4" foam, along with the rest of the sump and it's equipment. The only time I can hear anything is during the middle of the night when there is no other noise, and it's just a little hum, nothing more.

As far as heat, it gets HOT! :) Pretty hot to the touch actually...

Thanks for confirming, I have heard several and remeber being amazed at not being able to here them at all for the most part, this thing is rather loud. Im going to give it till tommorow to see if it just needs a break in period or something and call them up about it. Good to know the heat is normal to, its just hot enough to almost be untouchable, but seems to have leveled off at that temp and hasnt gotten any hotter, Thanks again!

Mine was absolutly quite until last week. It turns out my bearings went bad. Reeflo is sending me a replacement. If you go to there website it give some troubleshooting steps like:

Remove and clean dust cap and make sure the cap isnt hitting the fan blades.

Restrict the return to see if noise gets louder. If it does you have a blockage in your intake.

If that doesnt work give them a call. They have a great warranty process.

Good luck:)

Ours started out very loud and I could hear it in another room.
However after a few days it suddenly was quiet. Give it a little bit of time to break in before sending it back.
Many people say they are very quiet so if it isn't after about a week then I would consider something wrong with it....
Good luck!

Teog, good to hear good things about the warranty process, If it doesnt start to quite down by tommorow Ill pull it apart and check that out.

Sugartooth, what did your sound like? Mine doesnt sound like a screeching bad bearing but is just louder than I expected, probally nothing to worry about, just wanted to cover my bases..... Im feeling much better knowing yours got silent after a few days though:)

mine is very quiet, you would think it almost isn't running ..... oh wait, it isn't running!

i'll let you know after saturday when i have time to let it run and watch the system!

i know boostables was VERY quiet when i was checking out his.

I've been running mine for almost a year. Very quiet, but hot. After 5 months I had a leak and called the company. They sent me replacement seals at no cost. Given the saving of electric for the water flow I'm keeping mine till something else is better.(for my application.)

Yes, mine is hot to the touch also.
At first it was very loud, like a barracuda or larger pump. It sounded like a very loud pump, however we were concerned maybe it wasn't pumping correctly (air bubbles, etc.) because it was so loud and feedback was this pump wasn't loud at all.
We also noticed a smell, like burning metal for a few days too. That also went away.

Just got my new dart from reeflow and its very quite again. Great service from reeflow! And both the pumps Ive had have been hot to the touch.

Hey... sorry for the late delay, but it seems like you got it figured out.. ;) and yes.. mine is pretty quite and not super hot to the touch, but warm.. Been running for over a year now.

Mine are very quiet but surprisingly hot. I've done some mods to mount fans on the back of them. I was hoping it might drop my tank temps a little bit but didn't really help much.

Howdy boostable, thought you dropped off the planet there:) Pump is quiet now so all is good on that, temp is way hot to the touch but the stand is wide open so I figure if I did put a fan in it it wont help the tank temp at all, luckily its been tried by RDMPE so I dont have to try it:)....,. Laziness prevails!

Im looking for 2 pieces of acrylic, roughly 17-18 inches by 22 or so, got any scrap laying around boostable? 1/4 would work, just useing it for dividers in a 75, need 2 pieces, let me know.
