how many clams?

i asked this in another thread but didnt get much response. I just now noticed a spot for calms. This made me happy!

Can you have to many clams in a tank?

No as long as you have enough food to sustain them and calcium levels are high or they basically will eat everything and die.

I was also told they dont eat much phyto when they are bigger and rely more on light, is this true? I dont see why it would but i dont know.

If you have excellent lighting "T5 or MH" and good water quality you shouldn't need to feed clams. They use photosynthasis to get the food they need. I currently have 20 clams in my 120g reef. You just need to be on your cal, alk, and mag.
