How many clowns

I have a 75 gallon fowlr set up right now that's cycling and I wanted to know if I could do 3-4 clownfish in the tank? Would two black and white clowns fight with two true percula clownfish?

clowns of different species generally fight, they can be kept together fairly well while they are young but once they start to get older they generally start to fight agaisnt the opposite species. i dont know how the black and white Ocellarus or percs would fair with standard percs though i personally wouldent take the chances. I my self have a pair of black ocellarus, which BTW up here go for up to 190 a pair, not something you'd like to fight and get damaged with ofter clowns.

There are some people who have successfully kept groups of clownfish in a tank. I don't know of anyone who would recommend it to a non-expert. I also don't know of anyone who has had a stable group for any number of years.

I've heard you can often times keep 3 ocellaris (a.k.a. false percula) clowns in a tank. Two of them will pair off and one will remain a juvenile (in theory). My father had 3 in his 30 gallon for a long time. The smallest did eventually die, though, and it very well may have starved, since the other two are only going to let it have the scraps.

actually if that is really what you wanted to try, keep tank raised specimens, the smaller the better. Two normal orange ocellaris and two Black & White ocellaris, all tank raised and small.

You will have the highest chance of getting them stay in the tank a bit easier. Like many said, at the best, they will form a group hierarchy but do not expect to get 2 pairs out of that. :)

I don't really care if they become a real "pair" I may just try two true perculas and two black and white and if they start to fight or ect, put them in another tank. I have a 20 gallon tank I'm not using they could go in if they caused problems.

I think I'm going to try this and see what happens. A pair of true perculas and a pair of black Ocellaris. If they do start to fight I'll put one pair out. ( They won't be a true pair but I'm just saying pair since I'm getting two of each. )

i had 2 black and 2 orange occelaris in a 100g, they behaved themselves fine but they were all the same size and all put in the tank at the same time, they did however tend to hang around with the other clown of simular colour...

I might try that but since I already have one true percula clown in a holding tank, I'm just going to get another one.
