How many coats of Spar Urethane?

I am working on staining and urethaning my stand and canopy.

I am pretty much finished with the stand, but am curious as to how many coats of spar urethane I should use on the canopy that is exposed to the salt water the most?

go wiht 3 that is what i used and it is holding up nice

Thanks, that is how many I put on the stand. I just wasn't sure if I needed more on the parts that are exposed to the saltwater.

I did 3 coats on the outside, 4 on the inside. Definitely could have done with 3 coats inside.
