How many gallons requires for QT tank?

Hi all,

I have 13 fish that need to go into QT. They range in size from <1" to 3" max.

I'm going to be upgrading tanks, so this is a perfect time for me to treat the fish as they are exhibiting signs of ich. As such, I'm going to purchase a QT setup and am curious how big I need to go for it.

Thanks.

Personally if your going to be upgrading their tank anyway and wanna treat them all at once id just treat them in the system their in - any inverts/live rock(depending on treatment.) buying a QT setup to do 13 at once just one time is a bit of work. Then id just get a 20 Long for any new additions or individual Patients that come up.

Other than that id recommend at least a 40 breeder with alot of surface agitation and some airstones for a temporary QT setup, but even then im feeling thats small, maybe someone more experienced with Qting larger quantities of fish can help, its taken me almost a year to get to five fish in my display lol.

I don't want to remove the rock and corals to do copper treatment, etc. so I need to move the fish while I cycle the new tank.
