I plumed my return pump to have two valves, one to a refugium and the other back into the sump. I can control overall water flow by opening the sump return more or less without putting strain on my pump. I was going to put a basket for media on the return but now I am thinking I will usea filter sock and put media in it of the return.

I use GFO... used to use chemipure. Things are definitely nicer since the GFO.

Granular Ferric Oxide - it is used to remove Phosphates. I do not run without it

I run two reactors 1 with carban and 1 with GFO
