How many of you use chillers for your MH?

If you look at the suggestion, it says that if you have a cool room with good ventilation, you may not need a chiller.

I have one on my system, but it seldom needs to run most of the year, except in Summer. Here in AZ we use lots of air conditioning in the Summer. I figure they got that up in Ohio too.

Try to keep the room cool in the summer time, keep the tank away from windows and exterior walls, and blow a fan across the water surface if necessary.

I think you will find that most folks on this forum do just fine with these techniques.

For 1.5 years I ran my system without a chiller and had no temperature problems at all but with 2- 4" fans in the canopy and a 6" clip on fan over the sump I was experiencing high evaporation to the tune of 6 gallons every other day of make up water. I added a chiller about 6 months ago and still maintain the same temperature but have been able to remove the clip on fan and drastically slow the 4" fans down to a very slow speed. I now add 5 gallons every fourth day due to evaporation and my humidity level inside the house is much lower. Before the chiller it felt like a swamp in the house and made sleeping uncomfortable as well as having a pond outside where my AC condensate line dumps.
