Ok, I getting ready to set-up some QT tanks. I was wanting to set one up specifically for new and incoming corals. I want to set another one up just for new and incoming livestock/fish/inverts/new rock etc. Plus another QT tank just for administering meds. Any thoughts of designs would be considered. I plan on covering the backs and both sides. Basic HOT Penguine style filters/small heaters/powerhead/ and airstones. Basic light on the two of them with LEDs over the coral tank. What list of meds would be stocked to keep on hand ???

If you scroll down here and here, you'll see a post by "Indymann99" w/pics. For corals/inverts, a fishless (very important) frag tank tank will suffice.

Meds to keep on hand include: Cupramine, Prazipro, Formalin-MS (esp if you plan on purchasing clowns), and a broad spectrum antibiotic such as Furan-2.

Part of the equation is how readily you have access to the medications, how quickly they expire and how quickly any disease they may treat will kill your fish.

Cupramine keeps forever and velvet is deadly, so I'd always have some on hand. Same for formalin/brook.

Antibiotics tend to expire/outdate, are readily available at many stores and most bacterial infections tend to be slower in onset, so I don't make a point of keeping them on hand.
