How many sea slugs

How many lettuce sea slugs will do the trick for a 20 gallon tank? I've heard they eat a lot of algae, but they do get nutrients from the lights. So would 2 do the trick? I have no other algae eaters except a conch who cleans sand.

If you are referring to a sea hare, then Zero. Unless you have massive amount of GHA for them to eat.

Even with one, sooner or later your tank will likely level out and nutrients will drop, unless you feed heavy and do no water changes. When this happens you may need to supplement the slugs diet.

Maybe, but don't the slugs get some nutrients from your lights? So they aren't so algae dependent as other slugs.

That's what I was told, but still wasted away. Three year old mature reef with halide lighting. Mine is just one experience so take it with a grain of salt. It did lay eggs before it passed.

After eating all my bryopsis mine wasted away. The lights probably kept her (kept laying eggs) alive for a bit but eventually died. I think I read somewhere they have a short life span, something like a year or so.
