How Many Snails do u have?

How many snails do u have in ur main tank? how many gallons? i have around 40 in my 55 gal. is this over kill?

wow your making me feel guilty. i have a 55 gallon tank and i have 8 nassarius and 4 astrea snails. but i am getting more snails little by little. you said you have 40 snails. what type of snails are they?

12 Turbos
2 Super Tongan Nassarius
2 Nassarius
1 or 2 Cerith - rarely see them
5-10 Stomotella - hard to tell, I almost never see them
1 fighting conch - he's awesome, pretty much eats off the sand 24/7

I put close to 60 in a 30. Way more than I needed but it was a good package price a couple of years ago. I have no idea how many are left but until there is algae on the glass I don't really care

I use blue legs for a small measure of algae cleanup, but otherwise dont really have a problem. Clean the glass from a light dusting of algae once or twice a week and I'm good to go.

A metric ton! We have a organization here that sells snails that will spawn in reef tanks. And they multiply once you add a few in to the system. The Green Turbo is what I have been using for a few years now.

1 turbo, a couple margaritas, couple nassarius. the turbo does all the work though (and knocks all my sheet over).

I think it all depends on how much you have to clean. If you have a great skimmer and water parameters, you won't need as large of a clean-up crew. I just started a tank 5 months ago and got some bad RO/DI water, so am in the middle of a huge algae bloom and have about 1 astrea for every 2-3 gallons of water.
