How many watts do i need for soft coral tank..??

Shouldn't take too much. On my small tank (29 gallon) I have a decent 2x 39watt (individual reflectors) T5HO (1x 10k & 1x 460/420 actinic) running and it seems to be more than plenty.

I am only dealing with an 18" depth, probably more like 16" with the sand bed at the most. Your 60 gallon probably has around a 23" depth minus sand bed depth. So take that into consideration with wattage.

A 2xT5HO for your 48" tank is around 108 watts. I'd say that is good.

Others should chime in with their thoughts too with their experiences.

I am currently running 55 watts (30 is 10k, 15 is 460nm) on my 20L which is approximately 12 inches deep. I am able to grow soft corals throughout the entire water column.

I would recommend using approximately 120 watts.
