I have a 100 gallon tank, and only have 3 fish. I am trying to stick with all peaceful fish. I wanted to add a flasher wrasse and mabey one other peaceful wrasse, will this work? I know when you keep 2 of the same species, even when they are peaceful they will sometimes fight. How are wrasses together?

Thanks

Well, a pair of fairy or flasher wrasses will do well together. Depending on the fish involved, other combinations may or may not work. For example, six line wrasses usually don't get along with other wrasses.

You're best off keeping different genera, preferably with greatly different colouration. I've kept Thalassoma, Halichoeres and Anampses together. They squabble a bit, but nothing serious. Halichoeres seem to be some of the best natured wrasses around...I'm sure they'd be ok with fairies and flashers.

I have tried various fairy wrasses together and have only two left that get along with a 6 line wrasse. I lost a total of four fairy wrasses.

My 6 line was aggressive to the fairy wrasses that were equal or smaller sized. He doesnt mess with the 2 bigger ones left in the tank

Thanks for the help. Do all wrasses eat pods? I was looking to get a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, but also want to eventually get a Mandrin. I have been working to get my system ready for the mandrin and do not want a wrasses if there is the potential to mess it up.

Thanks

I think all the wrasses are pod eaters, I wouldn't get a wrasse with a mandarin unless I had the mandarin trained to eat frozen
