How "mean" are purple anthias

I was considering adding one to our group (ignitus and lyretails). At first, I thought it would be picked on by the lyretails but it sounds from my reading that the purple queens are meaner.

The trouble with Purple Queens is getting them to eat and even then IF you can get them to eat is providing proper nutrition.

So would you be inclined to say slim chances then? We've only lost one fish to non-eating. Our other anthias eat very well.

Are you referring to P. tuka? If so, I'd definitely say slim chance. They are very tough to maintain, much more so than your other anthias.

Thanks. While I think we could easily be up to the challenge (the spouse certainly is), since I am picking the fish I see so many options out there than I can pick one that would not cause angst.

Well if you want an "easier hard one", try Evans anthias.

Thank you. The colors on that one are quite lovely too. I am looking more for colors and less for hard/bragging rights sort of thing. Pity that the purple queens are so finicky...they are gorgeous!
