i try to feed my Kuda 1 cube each three times a day. I feed Hikari Mysis. Often they only get to eat twice a day. Sometimes only once. Every now and then I skip a day for whatever reason.
I read as other reader said, that they have no stomach, only intestine. For this reason you must 1) not feed to little as they need a more continuous feed schedule so as to more continuosly digest, 2) not feed too much as it is just a waste for them to poop out uneaten food.
I guess the trick is to understand the unlike other fish, they can't bing and then not eat for three days.
For example, my clown fish are pigs, they would eat till they pop if I let them. On the other hand, they can go without food for up to a week and be fine. So feeding can be shall we say a bit casual with my clowns (and most other fish more or less for that matter).
But seahorse lack a stomach that can store food and digest it fully. I am not up on the details of the science or biology behind it but suffice it to say, they can't be feed as casually as clown fish. They should be given a regular schedule with the correct "not too much, not too little" amount of food. In the end your horses will tell you how much to feed them. Most people I have read feed 1 cube / horse - twice per day and fast one day every week or two. This is a good place to start, then observe your fish and adjust to how much they eat.
Feeding observation is particulary important with new horses. They eat much less during the first 3 week in their new home but should show continuous signs of increased eating each couple fo days, during this period (at least this is what mine did). The point being, watch your new horses and adjust feed amounts as they need more.
Good luck, Kevin
