How much can one 20 amp power breaker run?

Hello, Im just exploring options for possible prop tank and ran across this storage unit with power running to it. It is 100$ a month, and has all the power you want but the only hang up is its a 20 amp breaker per unit. How much of a system do you think could be run here? Dont want to run dangerously close to the breaking point. but if i ran LEDs or t5s, enough pumpage and such. how far does anyone think a 20 amp will get me. Im just trying to decide if its worth it. its a 12 x 30 unit, stays pretty cool in summer and is just plain nice. even if i could get a 100g prop system out of it its almost worth it to me.

whats your ideas?

Watts = Amps x Volts, so 20 amps at 110 Volts is a max of 2200W. There are some complications with pumps (inductive load vs resistive load) so I wouldn't go too close to this limit if I were you.

Perhaps consider running the lights and the heater on different timing cycles?

one thing too you should only run up to 80% on any breaker. so the 20 amp should only have 16 amps max and that would be 1760 watts.

 +1.

Realistically, that's expensive electricity and a storage locker isn't the best place for a frag tank. Especially if it's not climate controlled. Bottom line is get a Kill-A-Watt meter and add up your needs to see what you have.

I would think the people who run the locker would get wise. They are there to make money not make a good deal for you.

Wouldn't even try it.
