How much evaporation per day

Hi all, I have a 90 gallon tank with a eshopps adv-100 sump and was wondering how much evaporation you would say is normal per day. I have an ehiem compact 3000 return pump but am having to top off a little under a half gallon per day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon to keep the return part of the sump at the water line. Thanks in advance

Just to add, the return pump is running at full speed if that helps. Was considering turning it down a little but would rather have as much turnover of the main tank as possible

Ok thank you very much, my salinity has stayed stable so I figured as much but always better to check. In my old tank I only had a 55 with a sealed canister filter and glass covers, guess w the bigger volume and an open sump more evaporation is a given. Thanks again

I recommend getting an auto top off system to top of the evaporation gradually throughout the day and keep it to the right salinity especially for weekends away and vacations. Its very nice to have.

1% is typical with variances as high as 2% or as low as 0.5% per day, so one gallon a day for your tank would be very normal.

I have a 180g and lose about 2 gallons per day in the winter when the furnace is running. Drops down to 1-1.5 in the summer. So you are about the same. You will be very happy with an ATO. Not only is it one less daily thing to do, it keeps your salinity stable.
