How much flow can a clam handle?

There are few spots in my tank that have both good light and low flow, so I've been struggling to find a spot for a new maxima. How much flow can they take? Is the mantle is moving in the flow is that too much? He is pretty small at about 2.5".

you are going to want a steady and not too violent flow,, you dont want the flow to disrupt your clams mantle because then the clam will prob stay closed for long periods of time,, thus taking away from its time of filter feeding and photosynthesis. Also try to put your maxima closer to the top as they need more light than other clams.

Good luck ;)

Probably since mantle movement is used as an indication to adjust flow around clams (or to move them away from high flow area). As BigTuna321 stated, if flow disrupts clam, it affects it's energy processes.
