How much flow for a 17 gallon nano?

I am building a custom tank and I was wondering how much water flow I need to be circulating. I am ready to buy a pump.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

What type of coral are you planning on keeping? For a FOWLR tank around 15x turnover is adequate but if the tank houses coral you would need more flow.

I am planning on keeping mostly soft corals. Maybe one anemone and a couple of clowns.

So, you think I need more then 255 GPH for that?

Even for just Softies I would recommend around 20x turnover so around 340gph in total is what you will want to aim for. What species of Anemone were you thinking?

That is my biggest delema. I could get two 65 watt PC lights or two T5s for the same price. The T5s are only 24 watts a piece though, but I have heard they give more lumens????? Anyway, I know I don't want to get a MH. They burn too hot and my lid would put them too close to the water. Does anyone have any suggestions?
