I would say a good portion of mine was buying cheap and having to rebuy. Then there was the need the latest and greatest phase.

I've actually been keeping track (somewhat) because I always heard how expensive aquariums are growing up.

I've had my 29G Biocube a little over one year and so far I've totaled just over $1600. That's missing maybe $50-$75 of water, filter pads, and chemi-pure.
