So i am torn... How many pounds of Fiji LR should i put in my 29 Gallon Biocube? I have the sand approx 2 inches above the bottom frame to give me a 3.5 - 4" bed.

I plan on buying my rock from live aquaria & they only have a 22 pound box and a 45 lb box?

Any suggestions? I plan on placing my order today
Thanks in advance

im thinking you should consider what kind your getting. if you remember my tank some of my bigger rocks are my lightest i also have a peice af tonga slab that is super dense and heavy. So i would say fiji is pretty dense compared to some other stuff like the tonga and vanuatu rock if its dense you will need more than if its light. i bet the 45lb would be almost too much.

by the way jason i got a fuge with cheato going, on your suggestion its on my 20l and its growning out of control what do you do with your extra

Luckily i havent had extra. When i bought my chaeto it came in a sandwich baggie. now it has grown 2.5 times its size & its just right for my biocube chamber. People on Nano-reef.com sell it for 10 - 15 bucks for a sandwich bag size shipped via priority mail. You could try it here too.

So are you saying i should go with the 22 lbs?

I ended up ordering the 30lb box of Lalo rock from liveaquaria.com I must say i am extremely happy with the quality of the rock, coraline coverage & i even got about half a dozen sps frags along for the ride. Its been cycling in my tank for approx a week now & cant wait to start adding things. So far i have been getting some good skimmate. It is so nice having a skimmer that fits in my tank. My old eclipse 12 should be shot!!!
