haha ok I just made myself chuckle there!

Anyway for the question I am looking to have answered.. I have a Yellow watchman goby but he seems to only hide under a rock and when he does come out he just kinda sits there.. am I missing something or is he only a slight sifter or is my little guy just lazy? hah! Anyway thanks in advance!!

Melinda

I think mine can sift all of the sand in my 75g everyday. I wake up and he has rearranged the tank every morning!

My Diamond Goby does that alllllll day long...but my watchman just hides in the rocks. Heck we'd be happy to see him come out and sift for a change.

yes...I have one paired with a pistol shrimp and he is always sifting the sand and the shrimp is always kicking it up...u never know which rock the two are going to come out under:lol2:

btw...since I have one someone stated in my other thread that he kills the stuff in the sand bed...so this means the beneficial bacteria?

Not sure.Is it of a sand size or CC?

oh it's sand not CC.. the brand is Carib Sea.

I guess my goby likes to sift the sand under the rocks lol

yes, the diamond gobies sift the sand...the yellow watchman sift for like 1 minute per day, and the diamond gobies sift like 75% of the time...if you want a sifter, get a diamond goby

Agree 100% with what is said so far. Our YWG peeks out of his caves all day long and MIGHT take a mouthfull or 2 during the day ... the diamond on the other hand rearranges the sandbed completely -- EVERY DAY

Yes gobies will eat beneficial fauna, not recommended if you want a dsb, I dont like them for this reason they will eat beneficial stuff in your sand. Cucumbers are better but people are a little nervous on keeping one, the tiger tail is good.
