I'm thinking about selling my 180 tank and i have seen used tanks sell for so many differnt prices i figured i would ask you guys a good amount to ask for it. that it will move somewhat quick.if i end up selling it do to me buying a larger tank nothing wrong with this one.

here is what it would be

180 custom arcrylic tank
rr and drilled with two over flows
340 watts of 72" vho lighting (not a ton of lighting but worked well for fish and zenia and a couple lower lighitng corals)
ice cap vho ballest
wet dry rated for 300 gallon tank.
and a iwaki return pump that gotta be atleast 1500 gph.
and last but not least stand and canopy

rock is staying with me for next aquarium if the deal goes threw.. i might keep this one to i havnt made up my mind yet.. but give your imput on what i should ask for it.. or if any of your are intrested dont feel shamed to make an offer. worst i can say is no thanks.

Assuming it comes with stand and canopy??

I got mine for $500, but replaced the stand and canopy(warped from hurricanes) which cost me another $300.

I would say with the sump and lighting, between 800-1200 is a good price. Then again, I could be way off. Many people are in the 1000-1500 range when trying to sell, but the ones who sell fast are usually in the 500-1000 range.

Tank: about 300-500, let's say 400
Stand canopy: about 300-500, let's say 400
Sump: about 50-100 sold used. let's say 50
lighting: about 100-200 used. let's say 150
Pump: maybe 100-200 used. Again about 150

Totals about 1100, but for package deal could be 800-1000 as I originally stated. Again, just a novice seller's opinion.

no if it went i would like it to all go at once.

csc thank you those all seem pretty fair. so in a couple weeks when and if im ready to sell 1000$ would be fair to ask? kinda what i had in mind... boy you sure do loose your but on these things huh..

For all of that equipment and everything as a package I'd say that is a great price for the size and nearly being "ready to go" - many people like me buy the big tanks then have to start coming up with equipment :)

Which... by the way if you do happen to part out at a later date I may be interested in your lighting since I just got a 72" tank and I want to put MH on there but a cheaper alternative is always interesting to explore!

I had a 180 that I was trying to sell that I started at $1200 and then dropped to $1000. It took a month to finally sell but I would say somewhere in the $900 range would be close. I had 8 VHO's and a few extras in addition to what you are selling. Unfortunately it is a bit of a buyers market right now. I have seen a few 125's and at least 2 other 180's for sale in the area currently. Just my 2 cents since I just sold a 180 today.

Thanks,
Jason

Yeah, you definitely do lose about 75% off of retail when coming on here to sell tanks. Thats why I buy all my stuff that I can used and I do a lot of the purchasing right here(and the sale forum).

its about two years old.. and i will be putting it up for sale in the next couple of weeks. we bought a 240 gal last night woot! ill make a new post with pics n stuff when we get it tonight!

Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions on your tank and stand(separate and together)? I may be interested depending on a whole bunch of factors.

sure man,

ill get the specs out to you soon and put you first on the dibbs line when it is ready to be sold.. should be at least a week or two.

Yeah, I have a 180 already, but the weight is such a huge pain. I wouldn't hold off the sale for my decision, though. It right now would be probably no with a slight possibility of yes. A lot depends on stand height and whether it is a standard size 180G. Other factors besides this would also have to be accounted for, like the extra 180G that I have, etc. Just wondering if this might be a better suited tank for me.

Geez Craig where the heck are you going to put it? I noticed you had people living above you.. make one move out, move the ferrets into their room and the 180 where the ferrets are? :)
