I have a 25g Aqueon tank, that is missing some silicone...i used to use a metal scraper to clear off algae, and i maanged to 'nip' the flat portion of silicone on the glass panels...then i had a pencil urchin who thought other parts of silicone were delicious...
i'm missing, at most 1/4" to 1/5", in very small patches, of the silicone (not IN the corner, but to the sides).
Should I be too worried (aka, please calm me down...ive been thinking too much on it)?
Tank has not leaked one drop, and I take care to not scrape the glass with the scraper anymore.
