how much would pink zoanthids cost per polyp?

Pink zoas are beautiful!!

However, I haven't really seen them sold by the polyp unless you are talking about Pink Asterinas, etc... Besides, I hate buying by the polyp. I would rather see a pretty little colony sold for a reasonable price- meaning, whatever you and the buyer think is right for it given the health of the colony, size, etc.

:D Have a great day

I AGREE on the COLONY thing. Go sister you got the floor on that one. I'm going to get me a colony of pinks soon from some weresthumbsup: thumbsup

I'd rather buy a single polyp rather than a colony... I find a single polyp grows a lot faster than an already established colony on a rock. Just my experience. But.. we're not talking growth here.

A colony is always nicer to look at :D

MAreefer1, it TRULY depends on the "pink". It's kind of like blue, or any other color.....the boundaries for those colors have become very spaced out. So polyps have to be seen to be priced.

As with what alexinfla said, the price for a pink is highly dependent upon the variety of pink. I can tell you in my system, we have three different varieties of pinks, and one I wouldn't spend more than $15 on the 20+ polyps I got. On the other hand, one of the varieties, I probably would have spent $10/polyp on, but fortunately I didnt, my girlfriend picked it up as a browned out colony that colored up very nicely for cheap.

It really is like any other zoanthid, there is no real "right" price, especially if you cant post a picture. That being said, the price is also highly dependent upon where you are and where you are selling to. Different areas of the country, heck even different cities in my own state, get different prices for different things, simply because in certain areas, the supply of that particular coral is limited.

in todays zoo market, I cant say i have ever seen one that would make me pay more than 5.. not saying they arent out there..

Can someone post pictures of a pink that is worth more then $5 a polyp?

and in the meantime, please post a pic of the sucker willing to pay $5 or more for them... ;)

Pink elephant palys on zoaid.com are probably the most I would pay for a pink one... followed closely by the Raspberry Limeaids... those completely rock out imo.
