How much would you pay for this grouper??

oh wow. ok, i am glad to hear that. someone local told me it would be close to a thousand because it was so rare!!!

There was a guy locally that had an adult for sale. I bought some other fish off him and wasn't real interested. If it really is that rare, maybe I should have he was only asking $75.

In any event, it was a nice looking fish.

I think the beautiful adults you guys are referring to are the pollini(sp?) grouper which are rather expensive.

I wouldnt pay much if it ends up looking like that when it gets old. It should never grow up. Best looking groupers are Miniatus, Panther, Blueline, Polleni and Bumblebee IMO.

the juv is absolutely drop dead gorgeous..... the adult color morph is a bit less striking IMO.

If you really like it go for it. Its your cash and your enjoyment everyday.

As for polleni's, I love mine but I"m also fond of Louti groupers.

Just make sure you can house him when he gets fully grown....

We've got a very large blue and yellow cod. He's about 15 lbs. now in a 1500 gallon housed with 15 lookdowns, 8 spadefish, 12 inch durgeon trigger, french, grey and mac angel, bluetangs, unicorn tang and a green moray eel. He is a very cool grouper to say the least.....

How much would you pay for a juvenille version of this grouper? I have been told that they are extremely rare, and I kind of believe it because I can't find anything on it. I was thinking maybe $300. Let me know what you guys think.http://cookislands.bishopmuseum.org/species.asp?id=8498

Premium Aquatics has this fish for $99.00....its very pretty now, but I don't like the looks of the adults:eek:
