Just to put it in perspective though, who here would spend 1 month's income on their tank?


Take Larry Ellison for example, just one of his holdings pays him over $1.5 million per day in dividends. On top of that he has many other sources of income. So just off that source, 1 month's income is about $45 million. If he were to build a fish tank, I imagine it would cost well into the 7 figures and he wouldn't notice it at all. On top of that, his net worth is along the order of 45,000 millions, so even if he dipped into savings a bit, who would notice?

Who wouldn't spend 7 figures on a tank in that situation?

Depends on what equipment you can afford. I can afford 300+ gallon tanks but I probably couldn't afford the lighting let alone skimmer and other equipment that goes into a large tank. But I would probably love a tank that is 8'x4'x30"(600 gallons). That would be my dream tank

Fun game of what if,I could see spending in the 20,000 to 25,500 for a 120*48*30 glass tank, dividing two rooms with star fire glass on three sides,and an external coast to coast on the other side.

Probably no more than 10K. I don't think I would enjoy the difference above that enough for it to make sense. Also, if I had so much money that this question was relevant for me (heh) there are other things I would want to do with it, for the betterment of society.

Probably about 3k for me, and the builder would hate me for the perfection I would expect for that price.
