I'm just trying to get an idea of how often different btas split. I know that it depends on the individual and the conditions of the tankl. Just wondering if there is an average size and time that they split.

My RBTA split 3 ways one time since its been in my tank (it may have been one split followed immediately by one of the clones splitting again, I'm not sure) and I've had it a few months. Before that, it was in jeffbrig's tank, and his were splitting pretty regularly. I think its ready to go again, but it hasn't yet.

I have a...GBTA? I'm not sure....under 10Ks it looks golden brown, under just the blue T5s it looks green. It also split once, so far, and I've had it for about twice as long as the RBTA.

FWIW, my GBTAs are much larger in every way than the RBTAs. The overall size as well as the size of individual tentacles, etc. I have a pair of gold-striped maroons and they basically swim back and forth trying to host all of them.

You can see some of them here:

nice tank...the big one in the center looks like a large rbta and the one below it is a rbta,...the 2 to the right look like gbtas...can't tell about the one on the glass....u must have ideal conditions for bta's. Way to go...thx for the reply/pic.

Believe it or not, theone on the right and upper middle are the gbtas, the lower to the left is an rbta and you can see a glimpse of an rbta behind some candy canes on the left. The anemone on the glass is an H. magnifica (impulse purchase...oops...but it seems to be a healthy one). Not sure where the third rbta clone is hiding in this pic. But you can see what I mean by the color washing out under my 10Ks!
