How Often do you add Kallkwasser?

I'm guessing you mean to your ATO water. You should never add kalk directly to your tank.

Your testing should be telling you what amounts to dose in your tank. Each tank is absolutely unique and no one can tell you the demands of your tank.

I would start with a 1/2 to one tsp per gallon of fresh water and test every day or every couple of days. You want your Ca & Alk to remain stable. Dose only the clear water once the kalk has settled.

Kalk reaches full saturation a 2 tsp per gallon, if your tank needs more than that you'll have to get a CaRx or dose two part.

I used to have a very high calcium demand in my tank and I used a drip system into sump and did a constant drip about 10 drips a minute to keep Ca levels high,But like Cham said it depends on your demand for your tank.

What happens if my calcium is 450-500 should i still ad kalk?

450 is ok, 500 is getting a bit high.

Your goal should be in the low to mid 400's on calcium and 8 to 10 dkh of alk. More than anything it needs to be stable. If your testing daily and seeing your param's go up or down then you need to adjust your kalk mix accordingly until you get solid consistant params. After that you can lay off the daily testing and you should see good results.

whats the best kind of kalk to add to a reef tank?

Mrs Wages

And you don't add it to the reef tank. You add it to Ro/Di water and dose the clear water once settled.
