How often should (does your) chiller cycle?

My chiller seems to come on quite a lot. It clicks in for about 2 mins then off for about 3-4 mins......

It is plumbed inline with the return pump, so there is no short circuiting of recently chilled water.

I am guessing that to increase the cycle interval so it runs for less frequent, but longer period of time, I should increase the flow rate?

It also could be the hysterisys (sp?) (the sensitivity) of the controller. It could be to sensitive and causing it to cycle too often.

Last week mine would take an hour do chill the tank and 4 hours off. Yesterday in the 95 degree day it took 2 hours to chill the tank at in the late afternoon and 1 hour off...

My apex is set to kick it on at 79 and off at 78

What size tank is it (volume) and what size chiller are you using
