How often??

How often should I feed my RBTA?
I used to feed him a small piece of shrimp once or twice a week, but lately I have been trying to make him split, so I havent fed him for about 2.5 weeks.
Will he survive without feedings?
Will he split if I keep not feeding him?

What is the deal!

I usually feed mine a krill once a week. I have had about 8 splits of the mother and the clones in the last 12 months.

Feeding is good. They need to grow to split.

They should be fed. They will grow weaker over time if not fed. They eat frequently everyday in the ocean.

I dont directly feed my RBTA, he gets flake food, and NLS that happen upon him, and when my clown bring him morsels, and he split once in the last 3 months...(nice run-on) He is directly under my 400w lights in high flow... silly guy.

I fed mine krill every 3 days or so. They will split faster when fed from my experience.

They didn't care for the freeze-dried, so use frozen krill, de-thaw it, soak it in a cup of tank water then feed directly.

Mine prefers krill over silversides and also eats flake. I fed it every other day to establish it in the tank, but now I only target feed once per month. It also captures flake when I feed the fishies.

I think the recipe for splitting is heavy feeding for a month or so followed by a massive 50-75% water change. The water change causes stress. A strong anemone that's been feeding well will split in order to preserve the species. Then you feed those 2 for a while and do another massive water change, and so on and so on.

Good luck with this & let us know if it works for you. :)
