I have a clown that is about 4 years old and was wondering what the record might be. I have heard of a 9 year old fish. Anything longer than that?

My local LFS has a retired breeding pair of Gold-stripe maroons from ORA that have been in captivity for 30+ years.

I have a red devil that is 19yrs

have you every fed him garlic:)

I have a Clarki that is at least 11-12.. My older brother bought him when he had his tank setup- 6-1/2 yrs ago he moved and donated the tank/inhabitants to me. The Clarki is all I have left, just about every mistake you could possibly think of, I made.. and he's still here ;)

He is the meanest fish but I cannot seem to get rid of him- He's going to be all by himself in my 50g Frag tank, he will be my guard dog.. lol

I had a hippo tang and pencil urchin last over 12 years and my two damsels (yellow tail & 4-stripe) are even older.

I have a Spined cheek gold bar maroon clown that is going on to 13 years now and she has a mate thats 5, she shows no sign of slowing, in this picture she looks small but she's the size of a medium tang and that anemone is 20" ID. the also lays eggs every three+ weeks.

A tiger barb on the freshwater side that was over 10 years when it died last month. Amazed he lasted that long...

Salt side, I've had a pair of clowns that are just beyond 4 years.

I have had a coral beauty angel for going on 11 years now. He's survived every plague and crash you can imagine, too.

I've had my ocellaris for 9 years now and she still acts and looks exactly the same as when I got her. She's been through 3 different tanks, spent a few days in my overflow after taking a trip through the U tube, and jumped out once, but she is still as happy/healthy as ever. I swear I've never seen a fish so hardy!

My oldest fish is a 12 year old Sailfin Tang. I have had it for the past 2 years and have known the fish for the past 4 years.

The oldest living fish that I have heard of was a pair of ocellaris clowns that were into their 40's.

I have a false pec. that I have had for almost three years. I got him in a 2.5 gal nano tank when I first started. He then went into a 33L, then 75 and now a 125. I'm hoping we have a long future together since he survived all the mistakes and neglect of my first couple of years in this hobby.
