How real is this? does it really work?

It's a power factor correction device. Typically they're used for motors. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_factor_correction for theory. For lighting it may effect the output/intensity. Would need a meter to be sure though. Wouldnt waste my money.

If this technology really worked EFFECTIVELY..... think it would be more well known / popular. Like lakee911 . I'd spend the $40 somewhere else on my tank.
