How shallow

Wanting to build a tank for growing some shrooms..
Just planning on using ceramic tiles on the bottom..
How shallow would be too shallow 4", 6" ??

Well what lighting. All lighting can be intense at those depths. And what species? r. yuma's can bleach in too much light.

Was planning on T5's,, raised up a bit of course..
The water depth is what I was concerned about, I have a par meter to setup the lights..
It is a 6' x 2' x 4 1/2" acrylic tray, leftover from a tank I cut up...

I'd do LED's if it was for growing out mushrooms. Better control on the output level and spectrum imo
