how the heck does this happen

lastnight my clown fish was in my tank now he is no where to be found how does this happen thats the 2nd fish i have had to disappear .what can be doing this any ideas ??

check overflows and even your sump. I had a pistol shrimp in my sump for almost a year. Thought he was long gone since I had not seen him in so long.

Also, if he did die he may have been blown somewhere out of sight and your clean up crew are finishing him off. check around the sides and back for that because if this is a 2nd death you may need to look at what is causing the problem before you get anything else in that tank.
do you test your water regularly?
what are the results for a test now? (ammonia, nitrates etc..)

Also check for any unknown critters like mantis shrimp.

Don't forget to check around on the floor. I've had that happen atleast once and I even had gutter guard across the back of my canopy to keep in jumpers. I still don't know how that wrasse got out. =(

i looked every where and i dont see nothing checked my water yesterday and every thing is great everything is at 0 its just weard the first time it happend it was on another tank i had now it has happend in my new tank
