How this new clam look

I picked this up yesterday from the lfs. The store said it was a crocea. Let me know what ya guys think .

I know it was at the store for a while. What do you think the general health of this clam is. Im just curious due to its my first clam and I have been reading about many problems with keeping clams.

The fact that it was in the store for a while is a good thing. The one thing I would tell you is to pick the clam up and inspect it REAL good. There are sometimes hitchiker parasidic snails pyramid type that burrow into a clam and will eventually kill it. Many clams have been lost to this. They look like a pyramid and are the size of a rice grain. But I think it looks VERY healthy.

Thanks for the info. I did inspect the clam very close and didnt see anything out of place. I know the bad snails come out at night. Which in the next few nights I am going to inspect again.
