How to catch an Emerald Crab?

I have a HUGE emerald crab that is nesting in my sps and stealing food from my bubble tip anemone. It does a great deal of work, as all my emeralds do, but this one is becoming to big and a real pest. Should I use a trap; when I put them in I used my hand, but this guy would hurt, if not draw blood now...

use a trap.

I think the best way to catch a crab would be to tilt a cup sideways with food in it on the sandbed, with nori in it or something the emerald would want.
when the emerald goes into the cup to get the food, it slides in and can't get out because it's slanted.
good luck

i have some that are huge and my peacock mantis wont even kill them. but when i cought them i just grabed them with my hands.

thats what i was gonna do but these guys are almost fist sized...helluva pinch, they scratch my plastic feeding tube whenever they latch onto it. guess im gonna have to bite the bullet, grab a latex glove and go for it...

OR you could stop being such a wimp and go "crabbing!"
Some BAIT tied to a string or fishing line, reel him in really really slowly when he latches on. Then scoop or lift him right out of the tank and put him wherever u plan to keep him.

haha just kidding tho, but thats what i would do for sure.
i havnt been crabbing since my early teens. wow. i know what im doing next summer. lol

ahhh, they couldnt hurt that bad...

they normally dont pinch you though. they are more concerned with trying to hold on too the rock for dear life.
